2005, THE YEAR OF TRANQUILLITY
Fall 2005. The harvest, which took place under cool, sunny and dry weather conditions, was placed under the sign of quality and abundance. This particular year, all the ingredients came together to create a great vintage, enclosing only the best qualities into the revered Cuvée Louise.
We diligently selected the best vineyards, patiently waited, as long as was necessary, for the ideal moment to harvest. We picked only the finest clusters, selected the purest juices, and in our efforts, succeeded in perfectly revealing the full potential of this exceptional vintage whilst preserving the identity of the terroirs of the 3 distinctive Grands Crus that compose the Cuvée Louise: Aÿ, Avize and Cramant.

ON THE NOSE
The Cuvée’s aromatic palette is characterized by its elegance and finesse. The nose reveals the purity of the great terroirs and the remarkable quality of the grapes that have been pressed to create it. This phenomenally fine wine opens gently with floral aromas of lime tree and hawthorn, swiftly followed by fruity notes of peach and pear. The buttery character reveals itself and, mere instants later, spicy notes of vanilla and toasted hazelnuts are sensed, adding unrivaled complexity to this delicate nose.
ON THE PALATE
The attack is bold, perfectly balanced and supremely smooth. The sublime harmony and minerality take us on a dreamlike experience in which we rediscover the aromas found in the nose as they perfectly meld together. The wine is then enhanced by its soft finish, through unique flavour and delicate bitterness, bestowing the cuvée its final depth and reminding us of the distinctive signature of this particular vintage.
Drinking Occasion
Thanks to its complexity and structure, the 2005 Cuvée Louise can be paired with a variety of delicacies, from the simplest to the most sophisticated. Pair with asparagus and mousseline sauce, or roast lobster with black truffles. This cuvée is also a perfect match for steamed turbot accompanied by oyster mushrooms.
